High School Advanced Placement Courses (Tuition-Free) Registration Information

【Korean Language】

 

  1. Course Overview* Organizing Institution: Department of Korean Language and Literature, Chinese Culture University

    * Location: Taipei Municipal Bailing Senior High School

    * Class Time: Every Tuesday, 16:10–20:00 (Starting September 8, 2026; Students from Minglun High School and Yangming High School may arrive at 17:00)

    * Instructor: Prof. Wu Chung-Hsin, Department of Korean Language and Literature, Chinese Culture University

    * Class Size: 15–30 students (Maximum of 10 students per school)

    * Student Selection: First-come, first-served basis based on online registration time

    * Tuition: Free

  2. Course DetailsTaught by university faculty. The first semester features beginner-level Korean, followed by intermediate-level Korean in the second semester.

    * Upon Course Completion:

    (1) Certificate of Credits: Students who pass the final examination each semester will receive an official credit certificate, which can be transferred for up to 8 university credits in related subjects.

    (2) Certificate of Participation: Students who do not pass the exam but maintain an attendance rate of at least 2/3 will receive a Certificate of Course Participation.

    * Requirements & Certification Support:

    (1) Enrolled students must register for and take the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) at least once after the course concludes.

    (2) Guidance for language proficiency tests will be provided. Students who pass the test may apply for a registration fee subsidy (the subsidy amount is determined by the organizing institution).

【Japanese Language】

 

  1. Course Overview
    * Organizing Institution: Department of Korean Language and Literature, Chinese Culture University* Location: Multi-Purpose Classroom 5, Minglun Building 1F, Taipei Municipal Minglun High School* Class Time: Every Tuesday, 17:00–20:30 (Starting September 8, 2026)

    * Instructor: Associate Professor Tsai Pei-Ching, Department of Japanese Language and Literature, Chinese Culture University

    * Class Size: 15–20 students (If applicants exceed capacity, a basic Japanese proficiency test will be conducted for final selection.)

    * Tuition: Free (Students are responsible for partial textbook/course material fees as required by the instructor)

  2. Course Details* Course Duration: Full-Year Program* Proficiency Test Requirement:

    * All enrolled students are required to take the Second Foreign Language Proficiency Test (SFLPT) in Taiwan.

    * Note on Fees: The exam fee is paid out-of-pocket upfront; however, students who pass the exam will receive a 100% full registration fee subsidy from the Ministry of Education.
